Housing Innovation Lab

How might we align community organizations across 11 counties around our shared housing goals for the region?

Challenge

A regional not-for-profit organization was convening representatives and organizations from each of the counties they support for a housing summit. The goal was to facilitate better alignment among all community organizations, build a shared understanding of the current state, and ensure all partners have the right tools, as well as clarity, to act on their strategic action plans.

Process

The PPS team created and facilitated a half-day housing innovation lab for about 100 participants from multiple community organizations across 11 counties. After teams spent the mornings grounding themselves in the data, learning about comprehensive plans and financing tools, we brought all teams together and guided them through a series of design thinking activities in a Housing Readiness Innovation Lab.

Impact

Teams left the session with alignment for their action plans to drive housing goals within their county as well as clarity around how it connects to the broader ecosystem of partners and communities in their region.
